Travellive 10/2010  - If people define love as a spiritual thing to connect people and create lives, you will find it in Victoria Sapa. Many couples and families travel here to experience a sweet holiday and the warm feeling of love.

Full house

Victoria Sapa hotel, the first international hotel in the mountainous area of Northwestern Vietnam, was opened in 1998 and has become the only high-ranking hotel in Sapa. Architectural design and interiors offer not only glamorous spaces but also modern comforts that every foreign visitor expects. The hotel is a blend of Swiss mountainous villa models and décor inspired from brocade and implements of ethnic minority groups in Sapa. Some visitors who spend two or three weeks at Victoria Sapa actually consider this destination their home. Most importantly, the hotel is situated in such a convenient location that a few minute’s walk will take you to the Center square and the town market.

The romantic bedrooms of Victoria Sapa have wide windows for you to enjoy the charming view outside. In addition to Superior and Deluxe rooms, Family Studio and

Suite are also favorite choices of families. The Family Studio is actually a cozy home with one “queen size” bed for parents and three single beds for kids. Rooms on the second and third floor own only balconies with small flowerpots, but first floor rooms boast a small yard directed to a beautiful garden where you can enjoy a cup of tea while looking at the vaporous mountain peaks every morning. In this peaceful resort space, you can enjoy a deep sleep on a perfect quality bed.

Perfect space for relaxation

Victoria Sapa is the only address for those who would like to taste Vietnamese and European cuisine in a luxurious restaurant, from breakfast to romantic candlelight dinner. Ta Van restaurant has a large fireplace in winter; and you can also have a table outside in summer. At the weekend, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy folk music performed by ethnic people during dinner.

The Spa in Victoria is a fascinating destination open not only for hotel guests but also outsiders massage therapy and herbal bath, promises to bring you pleasant moments after a long day of visiting ethnic villages. The resort’s spa services are up to the standards of high-ranking spas in America. Swimming pools and tennis courts are free of charge for hotel guests. I loved the beautiful pool here becait is covered with clear glass enabling everyone to enjoy the mountainous landscape outside.

Victoria Sapa offers its guests the perfect package for real relaxation. The Victoria Kids Club is located near the garden, and offers children the opportunity to play with the club’s great variety of toys or watch cute, white rabbits nibbling on bread, while their parents can relax in the bar, play a game of pool and chess or read a travel magazine.

Meaningful holiday

Staying at Victoria Sapa is a valuable experience for families. We are picked up right at the station after a journey on Victoria Express. After checking in to the hotel, we can be sure that we have found the most wonderful accommodation for our trip to Sapa. There is a Travel Desk in the anteroom where travel consultants offer us many interesting tours. My niece and I choose a tour to go down to the valley to visit villages, and take photos of the rice harvest and the impressive faces of local people dressed in traditional costumes.

A yellow carpet covers the terraced fields on every slope. The locals are preparing to start a new harvest in a week’s time. This peaceful and tranquil view around the hills is a special gift for visitors to Sapa at the end of autumn. In Victoria Sapa, I find that I’ve also harvested a story about the contribution of the hotel to the local community. We come to Victoria Sapa the very same day that the hotel holds “Green Day” – Environment day: an event organized by Victoria hotels in Vietnam and Cambodia every year. We spend the morning following the steps of the hotel staff, as well as village teachers and students to collect rubbish, and clear lawns and trees. This meaningful activity expresses Victoria’s strong attachment to Sapa.

Victoria Sapa also offers its visitors embroidered products, hand-made by ethnic women. There is also a stall maintained by a H’mong lady, displaying a wide local ethnic minority groups. Victoria Sapa helps us remember, that it is the very small details that create true friendliness and warmth.
